Community Exchange

RACE, or the Rangers Academy Community Exchange, is a program that collects gently used soccer gear from the community and redistributes it at no cost to people who will use it.

What is our rangers academy community exchange?

The Rangers Academy Community Exchange is a program that collects gently used soccer gear from the community and redistributes it at no cost to people who will use it. Our mission is to ensure that our community gets the most of its soccer gear and that more players are equipped to play this beautiful game. A household’s income should not be the determining factor for whether the children in that household grow up playing soccer.

The lifeblood of RACE is our collection work. In order to distribute free gear, we first must collect the unused gear throughout our community. We have collection boxes at the front desk of the YMCA of DeKalb County, Byler Winery, the Classic City Center (the “CCC”), the 9th Street Brew Coffee House, and the YMCA Sports Complex at James Park.

We encourage you to donate any and all soccer gear in your home that is no longer in use. We will clean it up and get it back on the pitch.

We collect and distribute the following equipment: all forms of soccer shoes (including cleats and indoor soccer shoes), shin guards, soccer socks, balls, and goalie gloves.

At the beginning of each season, we display our used gear for those looking for equipment for the upcoming season. We usually do so by setting up at the YMCA soccer fields (1153 North Indiana Avenue, Auburn, Indiana). We post notices for these events on the Rangers Academy calendar, on the Rangers Academy Facebook page, and by emails sent out by Rangers Academy and the YMCA of DeKalb County.

Our RACE program can be contacted by email at academyexchange@rangersboard.org. This inbox is checked weekly.

This program is run by local volunteers, and we welcome anyone interested in donating their time to this worthy cause.
